GPS Intelligence Releases New CDMA GPS Fleet Tracker

GPS Intelligence, LLC recently released a new GPS Fleet Tracking device operating on the CDMA Verizon Network. The CDMA PRO provides superior coverage and tracking capabilities for Commercial Fleet tracking applications.

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) March 20, 2012

GPS Intelligence, a leading provider of GPS Tracking Systems for Commercial and Government applications, has just released the all new CDMA PRO, a GPS Fleet tracking device that provides superior GPS tracking capabilities for Fleet Tracking and Mobile Workforce Management.

Operating on the Verizon Cellular Network, widely recognized as the most reliable cellular coverage provider in the Nation, the CDMA PRO provides consistent, highly accurate location data for vehicle tracking.

The CDMA PRO offers fleet managers a cost-effective system to improve dispatching and overall fleet efficiency. By providing a view of vehicle location, speed, heading, stop data, and more, fleet managers can adjust routing to minimize response times, increase fuel economy and overall productivity. Fleet tracking also provides a reliable solution for mobile workforce management by improving driver accountability through eliminating unauthorized stops, inefficient routes, speeding and excessive idling.

“Our current Fleet tracking solutions have enabled clients to improve efficiency and reduce overall transportation costs in a variety of industries," said Commercial Sales Manager, Kirk Waltz. “We’ve added the CDMA PRO to our growing line of professional fleet tracking devices to expand our GPS tracking solutions with more features for users.”

Security features included in the CDMA PRO include 3D motion detection, a tamper alert system, ignition on alert, and geo-fence boundary crossing alerts - all working together to improve security and safety for drivers and assets. Five available inputs and outputs allow for customization of triggered events like Remote Door Lock/Unlock, Ignition Start/Stop, and SMS/Email notification alerts.

GPS Intelligence not only offers an assortment of professional-grade, state-of-the-art commercial trackers, but has also developed a custom online tracking interface known as CovertTrack© to provide real-time aerial mapping of people, assets and vehicles. The world-class tracking features found on the site are convenient and easy-to-use, with satellite or map-view tracking displayed down to sub-minute intervals. Fleet managers can track their entire fleet of vehicles from the office or remotely, using any internet accessible computer or pda-style cell phone.

For more information about the CDMA PRO or other GPS Tracking solutions, contact Kirk Waltz at (480) 661-1916.

Nokia Lumia 900 pre-orders begin at Rogers Wireless
Good news for Nokia fans in Canada, with Rogers Wireless starting to accept pre-orders for the best Windows Phone ever made by the Finnish company. To secure your Lumia 900 unit, you’ll have to pour out $99.99 upfront, while putting your signature on a new three-year contract of $45 or more. Yeah, that’s kinda steep for a device with a single-core CPU, but hey – that’s how things are going these days.

And that’s not all. To further entice users to jump on board, Nokia and Rogers are organizing sweepstakes for everyone who pre-orders the Lumia 900. Prizes include a private screening of The Dark Knight Rises and a Special Edition The Dark Knight Rises Nokia Lumia 900 (approximate value of $700).

Rogers hasn’t specified when exactly it will start shipping the Nokia Windows Phone, but judging by the fact that the mentioned contest ends on April 10th, we guess that’s about the time when everyone will be able to buy the device right from the Rogers store (rather than pre-ordering online).

The idea of accessing and managing your information from any device no matter where you are simply amazes him. BlackBerry Developers to Get BB10 Prototype in May

lackBerry developers attending Research In Motion's "BlackBerry 10 Jam" event from May 1-3 will be sent home with a surprising bonus: a "limited edition developer prototype device" called the "BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha," according to an email from RIM Senior PR manager Alex Kinsella.

"This is not a BlackBerry 10 smartphone – it is a prototype running a modified version of the PlayBook OS ... which shows the path to the BlackBerry 10 OS, which has been customized to a phone," Kinsella's email says.

The Dev Alpha is not a commercial product and only software developers will be able to get one, Kinsella said. Developers can sign up for the event on RIM's Web site.

BlackBerry 10 is RIM's upcoming, QNX-based smartphone OS, which was originally supposed to be available early this year but has been delayed to the fall. In January, RIM said that BB10 will share developer tools and a screen aspect ratio with the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. Last month, the blog CrackBerry.com published supposed pictures of BB10's new interface.
In February, RIM announced BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. The new update includes built-in email, calendar and contacts, as well as an update to BlackBerry Bridge, a tool which allows you to use your BlackBerry smartphone as a remote control for your PlayBook. The upgrade also updates the Print To Go and Documents To Go utilities.

BB10 is considered critical to RIM's fortunes. While RIM continues to sell many BlackBerries in Asia, the company has continued to slip in market share in North America, including in its home nation of Canada.

BlackBerry 10 Jam is part of BlackBerry World 2012, the company's big annual developer meeting and press event. We're sending Mobile Analyst Alex Colon to the event, and we anticipate lots of news about the BB10 OS.

Apple iPhone 5 rumors start: All glass design?

This month Apple acknowledged that Corning makes the majority of the glass for its iPhones. Reports say that Corning has moved its glass manufacturing to China.

Now Apple has filed for a patent describing a unit that has a case made completely of glass.

According to Mashable, Apple says in its patent application: “Some of the reasons for using glass are that glass is strong, stiff, and radio transparent and a suitable material for an enclosure of an electronic device capable of wireless communications.” The patent application says that parts of the case may be opaque to keep sensors from being affected by light.

Paulo Santos of Seeking Alpha points out that there is a paragraph missing in the English version of the Walter Isaacson Steve Jobs biography, which discussed the iPhone and Gorilla Glass.

The paragraph indicated that Corning was working on a stronger glass that would eliminate the need for the metallic rim that caused problems with the iPhone 4. Santos speculates that Apple may be preparing to release an all-glass iPhone, probably one-piece, all-smooth, curved at the edges, with a larger screen than the iPhone 4S.

Corning introduced its Gorilla Glass 2 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, according to 9 to 5 Mac.

The Orlando Business Journal reports that a rumor about the iPhone 5 says it will have a 4.6-inch screen, almost as large the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and the phone may have a retina display.

A glass iPhone would set Apple’s model apart from its competitors, while at the same time posing a larger risk of being damaged if it is dropped. Some reports have said that between 70.8 percent and 82.6 percent of Apple's gross margins come from the iPhone.
